Spider Crane Supports Rooftop Glass Installation in Mexico

Spider cranes are widely recognized for their versatility in confined spaces, especially in rooftop and narrow-space applications where larger cranes cannot operate effectively. Recently, a 3-ton spider crane from SEVENCRANE was deployed on a rooftop in Mexico to install glass panels, showcasing the crane’s unique advantages for urban construction projects.

The compact and lightweight spider crane was able to navigate the rooftop with ease, positioning itself securely without causing damage to the rooftop surface. Equipped with a specialized glass suction attachment, the crane was capable of securely holding the glass. The operator used the crane’s telescopic wire rope and rotating boom to precisely position the glass panels for installation. The operation required careful coordination to ensure safety, including the use of safety ropes to maintain the correct distance from surrounding structures and prevent any accidental contact.

One of the standout features of the spider crane is its dual operation modes: manual and remote control. For this project, the remote control option provided the operator with a flexible vantage point to oversee the glass installation from various angles. This versatility allowed the operator to make real-time adjustments as needed, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Additionally, with a wire rope length extending over 110 meters, the crane could transport glass panels from ground level up to the rooftop, facilitating a streamlined installation process from start to finish.
